2026 Runs and Events ....

Sunday 12 July  -  Lunch at the Historic Settlers Arms Inn, St Albans.  Meet at McDonalds ⁄ KFC car park at McGraths Hill at 9:00am for a 9:30am departure.  This departure time should allow us to arrive between 10:45 am and 11:00 am, before the main crowds begin to arrive.  Arriving early will give us the best opportunity to secure parking and seating, as well as provide time to stretch our legs and have a look around.  It will also be particularly beneficial for those who have not visited the venue previously, allowing them to explore the area before it becomes busy.

As stated, lunch is at the Settlers Arms Inn.  The kitchen opens at 11:30am.  Contact is Chris on 02 4568 2111.

Please note that the Settlers Inn does not take bookings.  However, Chris has recorded an expected attendance of 35 people from the NSW Torana Club in their diary.  He also has the Club's contact details and will contact us should there be any updates or changes that may affect our visit.

Some general information on the historic Settlers Arms Inn ....

The Settlers Arms Inn is a heritage−listed sandstone pub and country inn located at 1 Wharf Street, St Albans.  Established in 1836, it is one of the state's oldest continuously operating inns and serves as a living relic of early colonial hospitality.  Its Georgian architecture, riverside setting, and preserved interiors make it a landmark of regional heritage and rural tourism.

Built from convict−hewn sandstone, the inn originally functioned as a coach stop for Cobb and Co routes between Sydney and Newcastle.  The Georgian−style building reflects the simplicity and sturdiness of early colonial design.  Restored over the years, it retains its original fireplaces, timber fittings, and period charm, evoking the experience of 19th-century Australian travel.  It is reported that the Inn serves excellent meals and at a fair price.  Meals are complemented by a range of alcoholic and non−alcoholic beverages.
